CENTRE FOR ACTION AND RURAL EDUCATION AND RURAL EDUCATION

CARE is non-governmental organisation (NGO) and a non-profit organisation. Our organisation is established in the year 1991 with a vision and mission to work with the marginalised communities and for the development of the society at Erode district. CARE works for the empowerment of marginal people without any caste, religious, gender, and economical discriminations and social inequalities. With a successful progressive activity we have extended our work to nearby district of tirupur and Namakkal from 2005. Currently, we work in the districts of Erode and Namakkal alone were we cover villages of nearly 100 plus in Erode district alone. Our main activities were focused on: make all the children to get proper education qualification, work among the people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS, support to elderly people, rehabilitation centre for addicts, migrant people, child protection and their safety, environmental issues and so on.

A Lifeline for Children

Childline 1098 is a 24/7 toll-free emergency helpline dedicated to children (0–18 years) in need of care and protection. Implemented by CARE in Erode district under the Ministry of Women & Child Development, the service offers immediate support and long-term solutions for vulnerable children.

Childline aims to safeguard children's rights, ensure their safety, and provide a supportive environment for growth and rehabilitation, helping them reintegrate into society with dignity and hope for a better future.

APPI-CARE PROJECT

Holistic Village Development Initiative for Marginalized Communities

This project, funded by the Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiative and implemented by CARE across 40 villages, focuses on empowering marginalized communities.

British Asian Trust

Empowering Youth and Strengthening Communities

CARE, with support from the British Asian Trust, runs a development programme in 30 villages to help adolescent girls and youth continue education, reduce child marriage and labor, and promote skill training and community participation.

TI – MIGRANT PROJECT

HIV/AIDS Awareness and Support for Migrant Communities

TI- Migrant project (NACO) is implemented by CARE in Erode District where every person living with HIV has access to proper care and is treated with dignity.

FAMILY COUNSELLING CENTRE

The project FCC (Family Counselling Centre) supported by Ministry of Women and Child development plays a major role to provide counselling to the dispute families caused by dowry issues, eloped cases, suspicious activity of husband/wife relationship, manhandling practices, problems with in-laws and so on. We help them to provide solution by counselling activities to reunite the family together. Our organisation runs the FCC for the past 22 years with the help from district judge, all women police station.

MOBILE MEDICARE UNIT

We support the elderly people in 8 villages by conducting the free medical camp once in a month in their respective villages, from since 1995 which was supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. During the camp the participant of approximate value ranges from 50 to 60 people will get the regular vital check-up, basic health check-up and enquiry about their specific problems. In case of major issues the doctor refers them to the GH for their concerned health problem.

HOME FOR AGED PERSONS

Our organisation is running the Old age home in Erode district from 2012 with the head count of beneficiaries of 25. We provide free food and snacks, shelter and medicines to the aged persons who were in our homes and also we conduct the free dental and medical camps in our old age homes to monitor and check the progress of their health. This project is supported by Ministry of Social justice and empowerment

MIGRANT

The project of ‘Target intervention for migrant workers’ is also supported by TANSACS. This main objective is to work for migrant people in TamilNadu. We work in Erode district from 2018 and to find out the in and out of migrants per year, helping them to find out and solve their issues, make them to liase with government officials to get their basic needs and their exact wages for the work they do, free health camps, awareness meeting inside the migrant workers who work inside the mills.
